Bears Burned in California Wildfires Healed With Fish Skins, Released to Wild

Two adult female bears that were severely burned in the Southern California wildfires were healed by �� and California Department of Fish and Wildlife veterinarians using fish skins. The first-in-the-nation treatment could eventually be used on dogs and cats.

A 4-month-old dog with a fractured skull is on the mend thanks to a cast 3D-printed by �� students and veterinarians.

Another dog bit Loca, breaking her cheekbone and jaw. Biomedical engineering students created a custom-molded cast called an Exo-K9 Exoskeleton.
