Vegan Chef Challenge Brings New Dishes to Campus

Restaurants in Davis, West Sacramento and Woodland are showcasing new vegan offerings this month for the Yolo County Vegan Chef Challenge, and three Dining Services eateries on campus are joining in with new dishes of their own.

When Martin Yan arrived in Davis as an international student in 1969, the minimum wage in California was just $1.65, but he discovered teaching a �� extension course on Chinese cooking could yield $18 an hour. He said he implored the director: “Give me a chance to teach a course.”

Martin Yan To Be Guest Chef on Campus

AggieEats is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays when classes are held, and rotates among four locations: East Quad, Student Health and Wellness Center, Storer Hall and West Village.

Eateries Welcome Students and Employees Back
