WarnMe to Use Mobile Phones From Student Records

To more effectively reach students with emergency information, the campus is adding the mobile phone numbers of students to its WarnMe notification system to support text messaging.

Beware of Scam Calls

The phone number for the �� police Safe Rides service (530-754-2677 or 530-754-COPS) is being spoofed by scammers. Parents of �� students have received calls apparently from this number overnight claiming that their son or daughter has been arrested and demanding money in the form of gift cards.

These calls are fraudulent. Law enforcement and government agencies will not demand money over the phone. For information about phone scams, go to https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/phone-scams.

Storm Damage Updates

Update 2 p.m. Jan. 9: Power has been restored at all campus locations.

Update 11 a.m. Jan 9: The �� campus is open this morning, Jan. 9.

Cuarto and Primero Grove residence halls and parts of West Village lost power again last night. Russell Park and The Atriums are also without power. Crews are working to restore power and clear debris.

Hutchison Drive Closure

Hutchison Drive is closed this morning (May 25) between La Rue Road and Dairy Road following a collision between a bicycle and another vehicle at the junction of Hutchison and Dairy. One person was transported to hospital. �� police are investigating. There is currently no estimate on when the road will reopen. Updates will be posted here as they become available.

Aggie Alert: Traffic Resumes at Richards Boulevard Tunnel

Updated 3:35 p.m. Dec. 10: The city of Davis Police Department has indicated that traffic has resumed on Richards Boulevard between downtown Davis and Interstate 80.

WarnMe Test at 11:50 A.M. Monday

�� will test its WarnMe emergency notification system on Monday (March 12). The test will go out about 11:50 a.m. by text and email to �� students and employees and by text only to those who have subscribed to UCDALERTS.

Aggie Alert: Stay Away from First and B Streets Area

City of Davis police and fire departments have declared the hazardous material situation at 123 B St to be safe. Traffic may still be affected in the area of First and B streets.

Update at 2:10 p.m.

The campus community is advised to stay away from the First and B streets area in Davis where city and campus fire and police departments are responding to a hazardous materials incident.

NEWS BRIEFS: WarnMe Test Set for Wednesday

Make sure your contact information is up to date for the test of WarnMe and Aggie Alert that is scheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 8). The test will go out about 11:50 a.m. on all devices registered with the emergency notification system — including work and personal emails and phones.
