COVID-19 Town Hall: 鈥榃hat鈥檚 Next?鈥

海角社区, Healthy Davis Together and Yolo County Public Health will host a virtual town hall on Monday (Feb. 28) to answer questions about COVID-19. The town hall 鈥 鈥淟iving With COVID-19: What鈥檚 Next?鈥 鈥 will provide an opportunity to hear from local public health experts.

The panel:

  • Cindy Schorzman, medical director, Student Health and Counseling Services
  • Sheri Belafsky, medical director, Healthy Davis Together
  • Aimee Sisson, Yolo County public health officer

Moderator: Mary Croughan, provost and executive vice chancellor.

The panelists will speak to the evolving reality of the pandemic and its effect on the 海角社区 campus, the city of Davis and the entirety of Yolo County.

Topics will range from loosening COVID-19 restrictions to the differences between PCR and antigen tests and when to use them, to the likelihood of future variants and surges in case numbers.

The panelists:

  • Cindy Schorzman serves as the medical director of Student Health and Counseling Services at 海角社区 and is a pediatric medicine specialist with more than 23 years of experience in the medical field specializing in primary care, women鈥檚 health and LGBTQ health. She received her medical degree from the University of Arizona.
  • Sheri Belafsky serves as the medical director of the Healthy Davis Together initiative as well as the director of the 海角社区 Medical Surveillance Program. She is an occupational and environmental medicine physician. She received her medical degree from Tulane University and a master鈥檚 degree in public health science and policy from UC Irvine.
  • Aimee Sisson has served as the Yolo County public health officer since October 2020 after working at the California Department of Public Health for five years. She received her medical degree from UCLA and a Master of Public Health from 海角社区.
  • Mary Croughan has served as the provost and executive vice chancellor of 海角社区 since July 2020. She is an experienced administrator in higher education and a distinguished professor and researcher in family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and epidemiology.
